Upcoming Conferences: Clean Gulf and All-Hazards IMT

EMSI is excited to announce that we will be participating in two important upcoming industry conferences, the Clean Gulf Conference and the All-Hazards IMT Association Training and Education Symposium.

Clean Gulf

The Clean Gulf Conference will be held November 10-12 in New Orleans.  Clean Gulf covers spill preparedness and response topics for the exploration and production; transportation; and storage of oil and hazardous materials. It provides a forum for responders, operators, regulators, equipment providers, and environmental groups to openly discuss best practices and lessons-learned.

EMSI President Ron Cantin, Executive Vice President Lisa Fettig, and Director of Operations Billy Haley will all be in attendance.  We will be sharing booth #207 with our partners, The Response Group (TRG).  Stop by and say hello or contact us before the conference to schedule a time to meet with us individually.  We look forward to seeing everyone in New Orleans and talking about our new services for the oil and hazardous materials communities. http://www.cleangulf.org/

AHIMTA Training and Education Symposium

Not only will EMSI be attending the AHIMTA Symposium December 8-10 in Denver, CO, but we will be offering our ICS-310 Intermediate Incident Commander course as part of the pre-conference training session December 5-7.

Training enrollment is limited to symposium attendees and will be managed by the AHIMTA, but here’s the best part:  The AHIMTA has arranged to cover your tuition!  So if you are planning to attend the symposium and are looking for an Incident Commander course, visit the AHIMTA Symposium website for information on registering for the Incident Commander course.  Seats are limited!

The EMSI ICS-310 course is equivalent to the FEMA E/L0950 All-Hazards Incident Commander course.  The course is highly interactive and activity-centric.  Course topics include:

  • Incident Commander Roles and Responsibilities
  • Initial response activities
  • Staffing and organizing
  • Relationships and interactions with staff and other stakeholders
  • Executive level interactions
  • Command’s direction
  • Incident Leadership
  • Meetings, Briefings, and Support Activities
  • IAP Prep and Approval
  • Executing Plan and Assessing Progress
  • External Coordination
  • Transitioning and Demobilization

In addition to offering the ICS-310 training course, EMSI will have a booth in the vendor showcase.  Stop by and talk to EMSI President Ron Cantin and Director of Operations Billy Haley about your All-Hazards IMT training and exercise needs and hear about our new services for All-Hazards IMTs.
