EMSI provided exercise support to the SONS 2007 Exercise. SONS – Spill of National Significance Exercise – was sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG). The exercise duplicated – in practice – the response of federal, state and local agencies to major oil and hazardous substance releases in the New Madrid Seismic Zone, as well as separate oil and hazardous substance releases in the Great Lakes as a result of a tornado. https://www.hsdl.org/?view&did=765678
