Readiness Manager

In 2024, Amanda joined our cadre after a successful career in the U.S. Coast Guard and civilian position with the U.S. Navy. A dynamic and highly skilled multifunctional logistician and project manager, she brings a wealth of experience in supply chain management and logistics to our DOE/NNSA Nuclear Emergency Support Team (NEST). In her current role as the NEST Readiness Manager, she is responsible for overseeing all aspects of logistics and property management for EMSI, to include deployments and exercises.

A proud 20+ year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, Amanda served as a property officer, a contracting officer, budget and supply manager, and warehouse. Her time as the Logistics Chief and Accountable Property Officer in the Coast Guard allowed her to lead a logistics department, ensuring the accountability of vital government IT equipment. Throughout her career in a wide variety of operational and staff assignments, she was recognized as a logistical subject matter expert and routinely assigned challenging duties while managing millions of dollars in property.

In her previous role as a Logistics and Asset Management Specialist with the U.S. Navy’s NAVSEA, Amanda expertly managed property inventories valued over $21 million. Prior to employment by the Navy, she served as a Logistics Analyst at Sabre Systems Inc. working for NAVSEA, where she made significant contributions to asset management policies and inventory oversight. While at NAVSEA, she adeptly coordinated the disposal of over $800k in excess government property, showcasing her talent for navigating complex logistical challenges with ease. In addition, she was critical as the lead contributor to the writing of NAVSEA 001, Asset Management Policy.

Operating with the Incident Command System, Amanda served on the Coast Guard’s Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT) where she was a key contributor to the success of the ICP consisting of 2,300 members from 20 different CG units and other Federal, State, and Local Agencies, numerous industry partners, and responders from five major Oil Spill Removal Organizations during major responses such as Hurricanes KATRINA and IKE.

More recently, Amanda deployed for EMSI during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she took charge as the Logistics Section Chief at the Mercedes-Benz Community Vaccination Center in Atlanta, GA. Leading the integration of federal and state resources, she played a crucial role in managing mass vaccination efforts and ensuring smooth communication among local and state agencies, while completing over 10,000 vaccines daily and a grand total of 300,452 vaccinations during her assignment.
