Course overview
ICS-339 prepares emergency management and response personnel for the role of Division/Group Supervisor (DIVS) during all-hazards incidents. The course builds on ICS fundamentals and focuses on supervising resources, coordinating with the Operations Section, supporting incident objectives, and ensuring safe and effective tactical operations during Type 3 incidents.

Course objectives
- Explain the structure and function of the Operations Section.
- Describe the roles and responsibilities of the Division/Group Supervisor in supporting incident objectives.
- Explain coordination requirements between Division/Group Supervisors and Command and General Staff sections.
- Apply strategies for supervising assigned tactical resources.
- Identify safety responsibilities during tactical operations.
- Provide feedback on operational progress and effectiveness.
- Develop recommendations to support future operational objectives.
- Evaluate performance of assigned personnel and resources.
