Updated Staging Area Manager (STAM) Job Aid Released

An international leader in developing tools and training for incident management, EMSI is passionate about preparing responders to be ready for all-hazards incidents. As part of this commitment over the last twenty years, we have created over twenty-five job aids and guidebooks that aid emergency managers and front-line responders in performing their duties, through checklists and best practices.

Today, we are proud to announce the update of our Staging Area Manager Job Aid. We are pleased to offer this job aid in the traditional half-page bound paper format, as well as an electronic resource.

EMSI recently updated this course to blend industry and government best practices, as well as and real-world response best practices, into a reference guide for logisticians who may be assigned to the STAM position.

Outlining how the Staging Area Manager works within ICS, this job aid provides guidance to assigned personnel on how to support the Operations Section Chief, the Incident Commander, Unified Command, and the appropriate Command and General Staff members. The STAM is responsible for managing all activities in a Staging Area and responding to requests to assign resources and provide the status of their deployment and readiness. The STAM function spans all-hazards and all-risks missions and is critical to the success of operations during an incident.

In addition to our STAM job aid, be sure to check out our other new and updated job aids, Facilities Unit Leader and Air Operations Branch Director, as well as the upcoming releases of others such as Division/Group Supervisor, Task Force/Strike Team Leader, and Supply Unit Leader. You can find all our EMSI job aids and guidebooks exclusively through IMTGear. And don’t forget to download our FREE EMSI Incident Management Handbook!
