Focusing on the roles and responsibilities of the Supply Support Unit Leader (SPUL) during all phases of the response effort, ICS-356 is designed to enhance and exercise the student’s knowledge of NIMS and ICS as it relates to ordering, receiving, storing and issuing supplies and equipment to incident personnel. This course is an instructor-led training that supports learning through discussion, lecture, and active participation in multiple exercises that provides a realistic, hands-on approach to mastering the skills required of a SPUL.

- Roles and responsibilities of the Supply Unit Leader and subordinate positions
- Coordination with other IMT entities
- Identify level of effort (staffing) that will be required
- How to estimate IMT supplies and equipment needs
- Responding to multiple incident support facilities needs
- How to manage a resource requesting and ordering system
- Establishing and maintaining a property accountability system
- Coordinate with finance on contract support and services
- Supervise and evaluate effectiveness of unit personnel
- Demobilize unit personnel along with excess supplies and equipment
