Course overview
ICS-356 prepares emergency management and response personnel for the role of Supply Unit Leader (SPUL) within the Logistics Section of an Incident Management Team. The course focuses on managing supply systems, supporting incident facilities, maintaining property accountability, coordinating with Finance/Administration, and supervising supply personnel throughout all phases of incident operations.

Course objectives
- Explain the roles and responsibilities of the Supply Unit Leader and supporting personnel.
- Describe coordination requirements between the Supply Unit and other Incident Management Team sections.
- Determine staffing requirements needed to support Supply Unit operations.
- Estimate supply and equipment requirements to support Incident Management Team activities.
- Support supply needs across multiple incident facilities.
- Manage resource requesting and ordering systems during incident operations.
- Establish and maintain property accountability systems.
- Coordinate contract support and services with the Finance/Administration Section.
- Supervise supply personnel and evaluate unit effectiveness.
- Support demobilization of excess supplies, equipment, and assigned personnel.
