Given the recent uncertainties of face-to-face interactions due to COVID-19, EMSI is proud to announce our next evolution in delivering incident management assistance: web-based training and support. We’ve recently acquired technology to enable us to provide interactive web-based training, workshops, and exercises using live, real-time instructors, as well as support ongoing response operations for our clients.
With a desire to ensure we continue to meet your needs, we’re rapidly coming up to speed on adapting this capability for our clients and will start our deliveries with some basic EMSI courses and workshops. In addition, we are currently developing a web-based ICS-300 initially, then will apply lessons learned to ramp up offering ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-220, and ICS-400. We are also exploring the feasibility of delivering formal position-specific training through this platform, but in the meantime are limiting the position-specific training to workshops, refresher training, customized programs, and non-certificate programs. In order to maintain the integrity of the system as well as our high standards for deliveries, we are working very hard with stakeholders to ensure learning objectives, time requirements, and student activities are just as effective with this new delivery method. Courses and workshops will remain interactive, using the breakout rooms and structured activities that you’ve come to expect from EMSI.
For the best experience, attendees should have the Chrome browser or be able to download a small app to their laptop or PC. Attendees can additionally use iOS or Android devices to participate in training but will have limited capabilities for some features.
In addition, EMSI can facilitate small scale tabletop exercises (TTX) remotely, to enhance team proficiency, validate plans and procedures, rehearse concepts, and/or assess response capabilities.
Finally, EMSI has begun supporting real-world response through the use of web-based video conference calling. Leveraging this tool enables us to quickly and efficiently assist EOCs and IMTs by providing subject matter experts quickly to help support response activities.
